Todo bien!

Hola,

contrary to my belief, everything would get a little calmer over the weeks, there are everyday in the week and the weekend lots of things to do. The last week I was practically every free minute of the daytime in the water improving my surfing skills (which are still certainly rather poor, compared to the crazy local surfers that twist and rip and jump the waves - "..it's ridiculous..." ), while during nighttime there are also good things to do: what they call here fiesta. To be honest, the famous "Erasmusparties" all end up to be quite similar and we are beginning to look for other ways to spend the night, of which there are many. I love the relaxed way the basque people start into their nights. With my "cuadrilla", my friends, a slightly still changing group of ~5-15 people, we have established a nice form to adjust to that form of diversion: one or two persons invite the others to their appartment to have dinner. Afterwards we start with a slow transition, until we go out to the discos or bars of Bilbao. The later we arrive in the bars, the better cause until 3 'o clock, there is only the usual coffee-drinking ambiente in the bars.

Today they put christmas-lightchains in my street in Casco Viejo. Thats not good.
I don't feel like Christmas walking to the Metro station heading for the beach...

Weekend

Hey.
I decided to write my blog in english from now on, due to the tremendous demand from my international friends...:-)
I've spent a wonderful week with Camille in Bilbao and it's outskirts. On Friday we went to a a soccer match in the stadium of San Mamés here in Bilbao: Athletic Bilbao vs. AC Milan!! It ended up 0:0, Milan played rather poor, Athletic did their best... Besides going to the municipal beach of Sopelana we went to Mundaka on sunday to see the semifinals and finals of the billabong pro surf world championship. kelly slater got his ass kicked in the semifinals, so we saw taj burrow battle bobby martinez. Bobby made it finally after a great performance in small conditions in the world's most famous left breaking wave... afterwards we went to a small beautiful island connected to the land only by a small path with a couple hundred of stairs...

My professor in karlsruhe finally agreed on my changed study plans, which means i can go to clases now without having to fear that it's todo por nada...

Hey,

die Erasmusparty war sehr geil, das Cafe Teatro Mistyk war rammelvoll und alle hatten Spaß! Gestern abend waren wir bei den Brasileños in der Wohnung und haben gesungen und gelacht, das ist ein herrliches Volk!!!
Dieses Wochenende muss ich mal wieder chillen. Machen gleich ne Radtour durch die alrededores, die Umgebung von Bilbao und gehen dann mal wieder an den Strand, weil die Sonne heute mal wieder so richtig scheint!

Zervus...!!!

Hallo.
Bin jetzt in der zweiten Uniwoche.
Meine Kurse habe ich immer noch nicht ganz festgelegt, nachdem ich heute in einem Kurs war, in dem nur Kinder saßen. Ne, der Prof war halt etwas verplant und die ganzen Studenten haben sich die ganze Zeit darüber amüsiert. Den Kurs werde ich also kicken. Alle anderen Kurse sind echt sehr interessant und ich verstehe auch ein bischen, um was es geht... Bis Freitag muss ich mich auf die Kurse festlegen.
Seit einer Woche war ich nicht mehr am Strand. Hatte mit der Uni viel zu tun und habe zusammen mit einem anderen Deutschen, Steffen, mit dem ich auch surfen gehe, für kommenden Donnerstag, also eine Party in einer Bar/Kleindisco organisiert. Unsere Idee ist es, keine reinen Erasmusparties zu machen, sondern Erasmusstudenten mit Basken in einen Topf zu schmeißen und zusammen zu feiern. Mal sehen, was also Donnerstag so geht...
Seit heute ist in Mundaka, der berühmtesten linksbrechenden Welle von Europa die Billabong Pro Competition. Am WE werden wir da mal, wenn die Wellen stimmen, mit einer kleinen Koalition hinfahren. Irgendwann muss ich noch mal Uni machen, oder?

Ach ja, kurz noch was zu meinen Mitbewohnern.
Ella kommt aus Valencia, macht Mediendesign, was praktisch ist, weil sie unsere Flyer und poster designt. Sie ist echt sehr lustig und wir verstehen uns richtig gut. Ceci und Mikel kommen aus dem Baskenland. Beide waren gerade für Entwicklungsprojekte 3 Monate in Zentralamerika. Mikel ist der absolute chiller, und das meine ich auch so :-)...
Ceci ist eine kleine sehr liebenswerte Baskin (wirklich sehr baskisch!), die immer voll aufgedreht ist. Super lustig alle zusammen. Insgesamt ist die WG ein total geiler Mix. Wir kochen zusammen und machen auch alle irgendwiewas zusammen. Wenn ich abends (zweimal in der Woche hab ich VL bis 20.30) von der Uni nach Hause komme, weiß ich schon, dass in der Calle Somera, die Nebenstraße, die gleichzeitig die beste Pintxosstraße in Bilbao ist, mindestens einer meiner Homies mit ein paar Leute in ner Pintxosbar hockt und ein Zurrito, ein kleines Bierchen, und Pintxos genießt.
